MNRL Strengthens Regional Decarbonisation Through Nanrise–Yuanchu Partnership

Mother Nature Resources Limited (MNRL), the Hong Kong technical partner of Nanrise Pte Ltd, is proud to announce its strategic alignment with Nanrise’s newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yuanchu Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., one of Asia’s leading carbon mineralization innovators. The signing took place on August 1, 2026, at the China–ASEAN Construction Technology & Industry Exchange Conference in Kuala Lumpur. Carbon mineralization is a breakthrough process where CO₂ reacts with calcium‑rich materials to form stable carbonates, locking emissions into stone permanently. This not only provides a cost‑effective and technically proven solution to climate change but also generates sustainable aggregates for the construction industry. Yuanchu brings industrial‑scale production capacity and proven technology leadership. Nanrise contributes AI‑driven carbon analytics and carbon finance expertise, ensuring transparent measurement and access to global carbon credit markets. MNRL’s Role in the Consortium As part of this consortium, MNRL will provide technical expertise, regional implementation capacity, and knowledge transfer in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, reinforcing our long‑standing commitment to decarbonising the built environment across Asian cities. Together, Nanrise, Yuanchu, and MNRL form a powerful alliance to deliver scalable, permanent carbon sequestration solutions for the construction and built environment sectors.

Decarbonizing China’s Buildings to Achieve Global Climate Goals: A Life-Cycle Methodological Approach for Voluntary Carbon Market

An interview with Dr Stanley Yip by the Jiangsu Provincial Green Building Association (JGBA) *, January 2026. The building sector is a significant contributor to China’s CO₂ emissions. In a recent interview with the Jiangsu Provincial Green Building Association (JGBA), Dr Yip shared his perspective on integrating the sector into the national carbon market. The mandatory carbon market currently focuses on supply-side industries like power, cement, and steel. Including buildings is complex because most emissions happen during usage, making tracking difficult. The key takeaways for a practical path forward are: Leverage the Voluntary Market (CCER): In the short term, the China Certified Emission Reduction (CCER) program offers a pragmatic solution. We need robust methodologies to measure and aggregate efficiency improvements and low-carbon materials across a building’s entire lifecycle—from construction to operation and demolition. Think Aggregation: Individual projects yield modest credits, but bundling many small initiatives—such as an industrial park’s collective rooftop solar—creates a substantial, viable carbon asset that can attract financing. Adopt the “Two-Track” EU Model: Combining strict building standards with market-based carbon pricing on energy/fuel suppliers drives stronger results than either alone. Prioritize Data & Global Alignment: Developing realistic regional baselines, ensuring data integrity with AI tools, and aligning […]

MNRL appointed as carbon management consultant for the first biochar project in Hong Kong

Mother Nature Resources Limited (MNRL) has been appointed as carbon credit management consultant to the EcoPark Biochar Centre in Hong Kong. The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) of the Hong Kong SAR Government had awarded the contract to set up and operate the Pilot Biochar Production Plant in the EcoPark to the Jardine Engineering Corporation Limited in December 2021. The project is in full operation and aims to become the pioneer facilities in the region converting local woody waste into biochar. The Biochar production process is a globally recognized carbon removal processes. MNRL is now providing advisory services to the project in carbon management and carbon credit project development. Dr Stanley Yip, CEO of MNRL presented the carbon management process for the biochar facilities in the EcoPark.
