The completion of a nation-wide, strategic and quantitative assessment of the potential carbon emission reduction impact of the planning and implementation of low carbon planning design interventions across cities in China over the next decade. This assessment will serve as the technical validation of the importance of scaling up both the plan making as well as the implementation of the key low carbon planning design policies in China, as a significant contribution to the national and local goals of carbon peaking and naturalization.

In support of the planning and development of 14 Green Eco-Districts in the City of Beijing, we were commissioned by the City of Beijing to stablish a carbon accounting standards for Statutory District Zoning Plans for the 14 Green Eco-Districts. The accounting methodology has set out the carbon emission accounting protocol, describe the methodology, the toolbox, database, calculations and evaluation performance indicators.

We were commissioned to prepare a pilot low carb urban plan for the 1994 sq km rural County of Yanqing in Beijing, China. The project has pioneered the incorporation of carbon accounting tools and low carbon indicators int o the spatial plan for Chinese cities.
The Project was undertaken in collaboration with the Beijing Planning and Design Institute.

We were commissioned to undertake a study to evaluate the Provincial Urban System Plan of Jiangsu Province, and develop a regional carbon accounting model for the application in monitoring the emissions. The project was supported by the Energy Foundation China and our collaborating partner was the Jiangsu Province Department of Housing and Urban Rural Development.
